Redknapp gives Warning to Liverpool
Former Liverpool player Jamie Redknapp has warned his former team not to fall too far from Manchester United and Manchester City if they want to stay competitive this season.
Due to unsatisfactory performance since the 2017-2018 season begins, the Reds must be satisfied perched in the seventh rank standings. They also had to swallow the defeat of The Citizens with a landslide score 5-0, and in last matchday they had to draw 1-1 at Newcastle United headquarters.
With a series of very bad results, the team based at Anfield Stadium was getting a lot of criticism from various parties. Therefore, ahead of facing the Red Devils after the international break later, Redknapp urged his former club not to lose from Jose Mourinho’s team.
Because if they return to get bad results as against Manchester City, they will be more thrown from the Premier League competition this season.
“Obviously, the start of the season is not as we all expect,” Redknapp told the media.
“Certainly at the beginning of the season with Coutinho rumors, Here and there there is always a question, ‘will he survive?’ ‘Will he leave?’.
“Which of course is difficult for coaches and everyone associated with the club. So obviously this is not the start of the season we want.
“The problem is Manchester United and Manchester City look very strong and so is Tottenham. So you can not let us get too far behind, if it continues like this until the first half of the season, we will only try to penetrate the big four.
“But certainly Liverpool have a lot of problems today, especially in their defense.
“That’s why he (Klopp) should spend 60 to 70 million Pounds in the transfer market, so that defense issues can be solved when entering the new season.
“I’ve said the bad results that Liverpool have, mostly because of their weakness in defense.”
